Notice of DART Community Meeting - Cotton Belt Regional Rail Corridor

You are invited to a community meeting to discuss the Cotton Belt Regional Rail Corridor Project coming to Coppell. In 2016, the DART Board of Directors advanced the project schedule to implement passenger rail service by the year 2022. DART, in cooperation with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has reinitiated the environmental process originally started in 2010. This includes preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the impacts and benefits of passenger rail service on the 26-mile long Cotton Belt Corridor from DFW International Airport to Plano. The meeting will include information on:

• Project definition;

• Project funding;

• The environmental process, and

• Project schedule
